The last 10 days our son was visiting, the last four days of his time, his girlfriend Jenna came to visit from Chicago. She by the way is awesome! Anyway Sam went back to Maui this morning. Evidence that the Christmas holiday is over. I have been enjoying and savoring every last day of it, the rest, the quiet, times with friends and family, food and more food, playing games into the night. Sam leaving means it's officially done and time to get back to our life. We love our time with our kids. We love the sounds of family and friends in the house, the sounds of laughter and conversation. We can be a loud family, and when everyone goes home and it's just Mike and I it is SO quiet! It takes a few days of adjusting, and we settle back in. Now Mike and I can be pretty rowdy and silly on our own rambling around in our house...anyone for a game of tag?

We have had a pretty incredible 2008, and 2009 is starting off with a bang as we await the arrival of Paul and Lauren's first baby..grand child #4! He's due in 14 days! I can hardly wait to see them both and hold him. It is a quite a wonderful feeling to see my baby having his first baby. Life is really wonderful and so precious. Everyday holds such new promise and hope. I am expectantly looking forward to great things in 2009!!
Paul and Lauren are the first picture
Sam and Jenna the next

Hauoli Makahiki Hou!
So great to see all the pictures of the ohana that you would tell stories about on Maui.
On your last blog, I wanted to offer this regarding being satisfied. Perhaps fulfillment comes not from wanting more but from needing less. As we strip ourselves from stuff we are left with our most precious resource - time - to concentrate on what matters.
