pressing on

Good Morning!
We really need your prayers. Mike and I joke around when things are not going as we wish they would saying , "Who is not praying??!!, someone must not be praying!" So we are asking you, who is not praying? (we're kidding , we are being held up by your prayers)

Mike had a rough day yesterday. Friday evening Mike began  frequent vomiting. It continued throughout the day Saturday and through last night. We have medication to control it, and we are using it. However it is not working perfectly and Mike is pretty worn out, his throat is raw and burning. He needs to sleep sort of sitting up so he doesn't wake up choking, and goes back and forth from the bed to the couch. He is trying to keep up his fluids and nutrition even though it is hard to keep it down. This is very hard on him, and yet he is doing it with a reasonably good attitude. He's not complaining and is patiently enduring each day, enjoying visits from friends and our kids. Last night as we prayed together, we thanked the Lord for each one of you, and thanked the Lord for His provision, and for the blessing of being able to do this together. We are so thankful that we have each other, "Two are better than one, for when one falls down, the other can pick him up,......... and a strand of three cords is not easily broken" that is part of the scripture used on our wedding day and we look at our wedding bands of three strands and praise God for He is our third strand and He is our strength....... together we are making it through, one day at a time...one step at a time... thank you for standing and fighting with us! Keep praying.

Dear Friends,

All week long we look forward to spending Friday evening with the two of you. I am thankful that it takes only a little "sitting around together" to cheer a lonely heart and energize a weary spirit. There is nothing better than a friendship that does not require words to communicate.

I keep looking at the photo of your family. What beautiful teeth you all have! And how about that Jacob shadowing Mike in the photo? A regular mini me - with hair!---sorry Mike. (Jacob, that is a compliment.) Seriously, it is truly a blessing to see all of you together, a reminder of God's grace and His heart for restoration.

We are so thankful for the two of you and praising our Father for the miracle of endurance, faith, and hope He is giving you both, one day at a time.

Ps 71:7-9 My life is an example to many, because you have been my strength and protection. That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long. And now, in my old age, don't set me aside. Don't abandon me when my strength is failing.

Thank you for the example of your lives. You are always remembered in our prayers. Love, Suzi (Scott, Tim and Tyler too)

Oooh Susan and Mike,

Wow, our prayers are stepped up for you today. We're so sorry that you are going through this. We see God's strength coming through you.

"On my bed I remember You. I think of You through the watches of the night.
Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings.
My soul clings to You,
Your right hand upholds me."
Ps 63:6-8

Thank you for keeping up the blog...it's so great to be able to keep up with you.

We love you and will continue to hold you both up constantly in prayer.

May the God of all comfort be with you and hold you close.

love,
Barb & Bob (tyler & emma too)

Mike and Susan,
You don't know us but we follow your blog daily. Mike you are another example of absolute strength, enduring and pressing through all the difficult areas of this treatment and without complaining. Susan you play a very important support role as well. Please know that we are praying for your comfort daily and that your present sickness will subside quickly. We have added you along with Kit to honor in the upcoming Relay for Life being held in Kihei in July. God Bless you!
