We are home and it feels good. Mike progressively is sicker each day and it is getting harder for him to sleep. Pray for the nausea to pass, that he would be able to feel relaxed and comfortable, and that he wouldn't get discouraged. Pray for me that I won't get stir crazy with all the sitting around! So far so good, but we have lots more yet ahead.
" ...one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things that are ahead" What lies ahead for us is today(we know that we can do that), I am praising God for yesterday and believing Him for our tomorrow. Yesterday driving home we were singing " Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone, because I know He holds my future, and life is worth the living, just because he lives! We believe it.Ok as far as the singing goes, maybe we didn't sound very good, and because Mike can only whisper, it was only me singing out loud, but somehow it sounded beautiful all the same. (remind you of the american idol try outs?)
Last night Scott, Suzi, and Tim came over bringing dinner, love, and encouragement. As I lay down at the end of the evening, Paul in Acts 14:19-20 came to mind. He was stoned, but when the disciples gathered around him, he got back up and went into the city. We were so tired when we got home last night, both emotionally and physically, but our friends gathered around us and it gave us the encouragement we needed to get back up, and go another day. As I write this, both Mike and the dog are snoring... The simple things in life are so sweet.
Have a great day full of love, I know that we will!

At one time during Jason's treatment for cancer 25 years ago, he had to go on steroids. Two things happened. He never stopped talking and ate all the time. (probably sounds good to your right now!) I promised him I would make him any meal he wanted if he would just be quiet for 30 seconds. He couldn't do it.
There were also times where he hybernated in the one air conditioned room we had for days making his way through the discomforts of the chemo.
Whatever the circumstance God carried us through.
We are both amazed at your ability to find humor in your daily battle.
Praying without ceasing is getting easier as the needs are known. Thanks for the updates.
We love you guys,
Toni and Jason Spence
OOPA Mike and Susan...
Greatings from the cloudy tower of Cypress...no sunshine today...but we have "sonshine" always.
Here's the joke for the day...
A man with no ears is trying to find a new reporter for their news show.
The first candidate walks in, and the boss says, "This job requires you to notice a lot of details. What is one thing you notice about me?"
The guy says, "Well dang! You don’t have any ears man!"
So the boss yells, "Get out!"
The second candidate comes in, and the boss says, "This job requires you to notice a lot of details. What is something you notice about me?"
The guy says, "That's easy, you got no ears!"
So the boss yells, "Get out!"
As the second candidate leaves he sees the third candidate about to go in and says, "The boss has no ears so don't say anything about them, cause he is really sensitive about it."
So the third candidate goes in and the boss says, "This job requires you to notice a lot of details. What do you notice about me?"
The guy says, "You’re wearing contacts."
And the boss says, "Very good, how did you know?"
The guy replies, "Well you can't wear glasses cause you DON’T have ears."
My prayer for you is good sleep, lots of laughter and sweet moments of peace.

Dear Mike and Susan,
Lost my first comment...Don't know what happened. Anyway, again, you do not know me. But I am beginning to know you through your journey. My husband, Chris, is out working in the yard. I am trying to work in the house...YUCK. My son, Nathan, is sleeping!!!! We all attend Hope in Maui, but last night, my son went to an all night party at Calvary Chapel with some friends. All had a great time.
Just want you to know that we are praying! Your prayer list really helps me to focus.
Keeping the Faith,
Susan Haynes
P.S.
Don't know if this an old joke or not, but I just heard it...
Two blonds walked into a building..you would think that one of them saw it. Ha Ha
prayers, prayers... on your behalf. "Grace and peace to you..."
Mike you look great and that is good news only 12 treatments left. I bet you are just counting the days. I hope this gets through.
