Why? we never asked why when the cancer hit Mike last year. We never asked why during the treatment. I don't know why we didn't ask or wondered why God in all His Sovereignty allowed it into our lives. He used it to change us and grow us in many ways and is still using it. Many blessings came through it and one of the great blessings is to understand a fear, respect, appreciation and uncertainty of life. He taught us what a gift each day is and the Lord comforted us through many days of waiting and the unknown. When we walked out of the Stanford cancer center and left behind all those that were not as lucky as we were to get a "clean report" that was when we asked why? Why us Lord? WE were overjoyed but nonetheless asking why? Why were we spared?
Now we are asking why on behalf of our friends? A friend of ours that was diagnosed at the same time as Mike is struggling to stay alive while he waits and prays for a miracle, and now a close friend of ours is waiting to find out results of biopsies of several masses that they found last week.
Please pray for our friends. God comforted us through the cancer so that we in turn could comfort others with the same comfort that He gave us.
I am so thankful that I know that God is on the throne and in control. I am so thankful that by turning to HIM there is rest and peace for a weary soul that wants to know why. And in Him I rest knowing that He is holding and loving our friends though we may not understand this side of heaven why.

I don't know the answer to any of the questions that could be asked. But I do know that God asks that His people be in physical form that which He provides in the spiritual realm. Both of you have and continue to be, not only to me but to so many others, His voice, His comfort, His reassurance - that NO MATTER WHAT God is still God, God is still good and God is still on the throne. Thank you, I appreciate you both more than words can express.

When my spirit grows faint within me,
It is you who know my way.
