Happy Saturday

How's life today you ask?  Well I have to tell you that I discovered I have a big, fat callous on my butt.  That is absolutely mind boggling but it totally makes sense.  I have been sitting on my rear end for four months now.  It kind of says it all, you do become callous to the whole scene.  And now it's busting out in all the wrong places.  I am bound and determined not to spend the day as a couch potato but to get out and be moving around.  For starters, Susan and I are going to go to the grocery store and I won't be riding in the cart.  We might even park far from the store so we can walk even more (probably not!).

I still am struggling to eat solid food so please pray.  I am drinking between 2,000 - 2,400 calories a day.  I have gained 5 pounds in the past 2 weeks which is a real blessing.  I am wearing size 34 501's which I have been saving for at least 15 years.  I knew I would get back into them again someday!!

I have been reading in Exodus again where God provides the Israelites with manna.  This is going to be their food for the next 40 years.  They are the perfect example of how NOT to behave.  They forgot that God really cared for them.  I am grateful I am able to take in the calories I am. It is a little challenging when everybody else is eating pepperoni pizza or BBQ chicken or popcorn but at least I have something that I can "eat".

In Joshua 1:5 God encourages Joshua with the fact of His commitment to Joshua.  But in Hebrews 13:5 it is clear that God's commitment extends to all of us who believe regardless of our circumstances.  He says ". . . being content with what you have, for He Himself has said, 'I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you'."  And it goes on to say in verse 6, "The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid."

Learning to trust and to wait, is all part of His plan for me and possibly you?

I really don't have much more to say and I'm tired of writing.

Hold Fast!

Hi Mike & Susan,

You probably don't know us, but we live on maui and go to Hope Chapel. Mary and I have been praying for you almost every day since April.

It is good to see that God is working in your life every day, and you are a great example of how a christian should handle trials.

God Bless you and your family

Mike,

So good to see you in the pool. You are sporting a new look...!! The Lord is sure at work in both you and Susan...and it shows. You both are such a blessing with your honesty and your faith that God is in control.

Here is a joke to make you smile today...

Two small boys, not yet old enough to be in school, were overheard talking at the zoo one day.

"My name is Billy. What's yours?" asked the first boy.

"Tommy," replied the second. "My Daddy's an accountant. What does your Daddy do for a living?" asked Billy.

Tommy replied, "My Daddy's a lawyer."

"Honest?" asked Billy.

"No, just the regular kind", replied Tommy.

Hugs and prayers from the sunny island of Cypress. Hope you can visit soon.

Yiassou!!
