The house is quiet, the kids are all gone home( Paul left at 3am this morning), and...........here we are! What can we say? It's Mike and I rambling around this house waiting for him to feel better.
Mike is slowly improving, today he watered the roses(then he took a nap), and yesterday he tried soft food for the first time. It wasn't totally successful but he did get some down.
When did we get so boring? we are grossed out with ourselves..I mean when did this happen that we stopped laughing? probably about the time that Mike couldn't laugh without gagging? so it was either laugh and barf or stop laughing. You guessed it we stopped laughing!
Can you still believe that we have a long haul ahead of us? We can't either. We see the surgeon next week and the oncologist....the big question is?? How's the tumor? is it still there? will he need a neck disection? we don't know yet, but would love some answers next week.
The waiting is hard, the slow healing even harder, but really we are doing well over all. Mike is doing the best he can with feeling so crappy. Please pray that he wouldn't get depressed and that he would feel encouraged daily with his small improvements.
WE are in Revelation right now and the verses that rocked my world and sing in my head the last two days are Rev 7:15-17 "Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And he who sits on the throne will dwell among them. They shall neither hunger anymore or thirst anymore, the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
for the Lamb who is in the midst and of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes"
God Himself will wipe away our every tear, isn't that amazing! just the thought makes me cry..it is so powerful and wonderful to imagine what that will be like. It's too much for my mind to wrap around, but what a promise..
Hold Fast!
