three days off

We're excited, whisper boy and I after treatment this morning are heading back to Modesto for three days. Mike is ready for the time out. The radiation mask is increasingly difficult with the saliva gagging issue. But each day he goes back there with a encouraging smile and graciousness for the radiation team.
Last night we were listening to a CD and Mike one minute had his head against the wall listening, letting the wall hold him up and the next he broke into a little dance. I guess you had to be there, but it was very funny. We love those little unexpected joy moments! they come out of the blue and lift us to this very cool place as a couple.
Write to us. We love it, we need it, and it helps us keep things normal. We know that for some of you, you don't know what to say, so you figure it best to say nothing. Nobody can make this better but the Lord, so just love us by showing us you are there, and write us. Nothing encourages us more than reading your words to us. It makes our day to read what you have written and sometimes Mike and I read them over and over. So if you are feeling weird about writing on the blog, or can't figure it out, email us at mauisusan@gmail.com
thank you for loving us!

The blessing of being away from "that room". Yes, the techs are nice, but not seeing their faces and seeking some sort of normal is the real blessing. Eight years after the treatment and I still remember as if it were yesterday! This time in treatment as my hair decided not to stay attached to my head is when Palsms 139 took on a new meaning. My prayers are with you both. Thanks Lord for an extra day away!

Hey you two...

Wow, I'm so glad you have 3 days off. It will be great to have some "normal" home time.

Susan, I was listening to the radio this morning and heard Paul Shephard on Family life today...he was awesome. I was thinking about our days listening to him. He was talking about our roles in marriage..he is so funny.

Well, we got to see God's grace in action this week. Tyler ended his jr. year w/ a B- average....truly that's the grace of God. You know what a time he's had this year...but now it means...yep, he will be driving. Yikes! Now we will need the prayer.!!

Bob sends just one word to you...
MODESTO!! We laugh everytime we think of that time in Maui, do you remember? I can still see the expression on Mikes face.

We love you and hope your weekend goes by very slowly and full of light funny moments.

We'll call you..

love,
B&B

It is awesome that you can still find the "green pastures" in such desolate places. Love and prayers...Steve L
