There is a time for everything. We are in currently in a time of waiting. Yesterday we waited 4 hours(gasp) to see the doctor in an examination room, and when he did come in, said we need to wait another month before before they can tell us anything. Ok, there it is....Nothing, we know nothing more than we did before we came. What are you going to do? Wait..and wait some more, knowing that it isn't in our hands anyway. They have done all the treatment with medicine that they can do. Now comes another period of waiting and seeing how the cancer responds. They can still feel a lymph node and can't look at the original tumor yet(because Mike's throat is too sore). They have pushed back the MRI for another month, and the body scan another two months. The doctor said that the cancer could still continue to shrink over the next month( this would be ideal, of course) eliminating the need for the radical surgery they are talking about (that would be so exciting)
The plan currently is, in a month, they will biopsy the node if they can still feel it and we will know results within a day. If however the node can't be felt, then they are going to do an MRI and see if they can see anything they can't feel by hand. Either way, the doctor said in a month we will leave with a better idea of how the cancer responded to treatment, and whether or not further surgery will be necessary at that time.
We can live with that. We're getting pretty good at waiting. While we wait and pray, we'll enjoy each day and have some fun while Mike beefs back up to his "hunk sexy man self" and regains his strength.
"Be still and know that I AM GOD" Psalm 46:10. God is in control, it's time to rest and wait on Him to reveal what the next step is. There is nothing we can physically do. We've done what we needed to. Now we are to rest and trust in His complete and perfect will.
Please keep praying. Mike has a long way to go to regain his strength. He is still very weak and can't yet eat. The road hasn't been scary in part because we had such a team around us supporting and cheering us on. Don't stop, we still need you, please keep praying! This isn't over yet!!
TEAM stands for Together Everyone Accomplishes More. We couldn't have done this without all of you praying, supporting, and standing with us.
We love you
Hold Fast

I don't see the request for prayer for the infection- Woo hoo! I'm so grateful for another step of healing. I'm continuing to pray for you both!

Becky

PS gotta add this ....
A SHORT HISTORY OF MEDICINE:
"Doctor, I have an ear ache."
2000 BC - "Here, eat this root."
1000 BC - "That root is heathen, say this prayer."
1850 AD - "That prayer is superstition, drink this potion."
1940 AD - "That potion is snake oil, swallow this pill."
1985 AD - "That pill is ineffective, take this antibiotic."
2000 AD - "That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root!"
