Quiet

It's 3:30 am Wednesday morning.  Good morning Angela!! ( our friend in Africa)
I wake up around this time every morning.  This is the best part of my day.  I have had a good solid 4 hours sleep and now I need to eat.  I am hungry and it's time for an incredible bowl of Crispix cereal.  Sam, our youngest, swears the stuff has natural healing ingredients. . . maybe.
As much as the effects from the cancer and cure are with me, this time of day has been a consistent winner.  Part of the reason is that it is QUIET.  Everybody is asleep, there are no sounds inside or outside except for Kai snoring in his travel kennel.
Refreshed and no real agenda except eating my cereal makes life a lot less stressful.  There is time to consider my blessings and reflect on yesterday and my day before me.  It's the Tenth Step!!  Jacob, our oldest son, called me yesterday and shared Isaiah 40:31 with me.  It is at this time of my day, where I cannot get away or distract myself that I am encouraged to "Wait on the Lord" and He will renew my strength so that I run and don't grow weary.

I'm not sure how to do this...but here goes...Just wanted you to know we think about you daily. You are in our prayers. Celebrate Recovery was not the same without you two. We took some time to pray for you last night as we were updated on your condition.

Good Morning Mike & Susan...

You are constantly on our hearts and in our prayers. I often awake between 3:30-4:00 Am so now I will pray for you then. I too, appreciate the quietness of the morning...I picture Jesus walking through the garden early in the morning and the sounds of His footsteps on the path...

"(Paul) that we mahy leed a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity."

We love you "Uncle Mike"...

A Cop pulled a car over for speeding.

When the Cop asked the driver why he was traveling 95mph, the driver answered that he was a juggler on his way to do a show for a birthday party and didn't want to be late.

The Cop told the driver he was fascinated by juggling, and if the driver would do a little juggling for him that he wouldn't give him a ticket.

The driver told the Cop that he had sent all of his equipment on ahead and didn't have anything to juggle.

The Cop told him that he had some flares in the trunk of his patrol car, and asked if he could juggle them.

The juggler stated that he could, so the Cop got three flares, lit them and handed them to the juggler.

While the man was doing his juggling act, a car pulled in behind the patrol car.

A drunk got out, watched the performance briefly, went over to the patrol car, opened the rear door and got in.

The Cop observed him doing this, and went over to the patrol car, opened the door and asked the drunk what he thought he was doing.

The drunk replied, "You might as well haul my butt to jail, cause there's NO way I’ll pass that test."

Καλημέρα Mike...

Just a little humor to start your day off....we need to keep laughing..it brings healing and "does good like medicine"...to quote a very wise man!

Verse for the day...

"You've been a safe place for me, a good place to hide.
Strong God, I'm wathcing you do it. I can always count on You-
God, my dependable love."
PS 58: 16-17 (MSG)

Well, must get back to my goats...you know we drink goats milk here in Cypress...much better for you..

Mike and Susan,

It's me Joelle from Old Republic Title Company and I just want you both to know that since I have heard the news about Mike's cancer it has been on my mind a lot. I just want both of you and your family to know that I am praying for you, for all of you and I think of you all of the time. I miss working with you and your sense of humor.

I know from first hand that this is not an easy process, but I truly beleive with a great support system and a good attitude you will get through this.

You will always be in my heart and in my prayers.

Hope to see you soon

When I read that your day began at 3:30 AM, I thought of Psalm 139:9 "If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea (Stanford), even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast".
As you "Hold Fast" today, please know you both are being held up in prayer.

Okay, just remember that if it's 3:30 a.m. your time, then it's dinner time over here!!

I could so eat Crispix cereal for dinner, too... They have this stuff - sorghum grain porridge - that is supposed to be "healthy", but it tastes like cardboard porridge to me! Only three kinds of dry cereal - cheerios-equivalent, bran flakes and puffed rice. Mmmmm....

Love you and praying for you! - African Angela
