Day 6...Holding Fast!

We're home for the weekend and it's wonderful. We were met with our friends Suzi and Dale bringing dinner and groceries. Our son Jacob had mowed the lawn, and Mariah, our daughter in law, had watered the plants. Our friend Sheila is faithful to bring in the mail each day. God was showing Himself through the hands of our friends and family, with many people waiting in the wings to pitch in. I know there are others helping in ways that I am not aware of. We are so thankful, and we are learning a new dependence on the Lord as we let Him, through the hands of others, help us. I am so grateful because it allows me to pour all of my energy towards Mike and he can focus his energy on getting better. Right now a great deal of his energy goes to NOT throwing up and trying to eat.

Mike says, " I was sick most of the night, today I feel pretty out of it, nauseated and wish that I didn't have to try to eat. I am enjoying family and friends stopping by, even though I don't have the energy to talk. I listen well, even though I can't promise that I am going to remember everything or anything you say"

We're sick of talking about cancer, so write us or call us and tell us how much you love us and something about you....

I can't promise that we can get back to you, but it will brighten our day!

Love and Aloha,

Mike and Susa

Ti kanis Susan and Mike,

It'sa so good to know you're home where your heart is....

I pray that this a weekend goes by so slowly for you..and it's a time of healing...

The weather is a beautiful here and the sun warm. Oh God is so good.
Here's a little funny for you today to make you smile....

At Sunday school they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.

Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, Johnny what is the matter? Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

Well stin iyia sou to you both and much "agapo".

΄iasou,

Sophia

Your son, Sam, gave an amazing message last night. I am forever grateful for the way God has used your family at Hope. Love you!

Hi Mike and Susan,

You probably don't know me personally but I go to Hope (my family and I do), and that's where is "know you" from. Isn't it amazing how we can be a "family" even though we don't really know each other? We are ONE BODY IN CHRIST, and so when you hurt, we too hurt and feel the pain. We're all in this together. We are lifting you up in prayers :)

If you click on my name in this comment, you'll see my blog. Maybe you know you I am :)

Nice to see your family photo on the header :)

Keep us informed. We're always checking here to see how we can pray for you.

Okay, stuck my toe in the water to test! Heck if I can remember my password and all that crap! After all it's been a couple days! :-) So you know I'm still an airhead along with getting alzheimer's! I'm having knee surgery this Thurs. 5/8 and will be home a couple weeks. Colored my gray roots this evening, had toast for din din. Had my nails done on Sat. and they look like Asian buildings - what the hay is up with that? Rick had an awesome message this past weekend. Took me years to learn what he said in his message! Sorry no name in lights type news from me - just the day in day out kinda stuff. Most of all though I love ya and trust our God with you completely. You're in good hands mi amigos.

You want random news? Okay - my son Ben got in trouble at school yesterday (for the millionth time) because he wanted to play "Wizard Chess" for P.E., and asked the teacher to start calling him Harry Potter. When she wouldn't, he called her Snape. Nice. And we're supposed to be missionaries??? Love you!!! - angela
